Job Function/Purposes-
The Technical Customer Support Engineer provides technical support for the North American Business Line Surface Technology business unit (Thermal Spray). Position is responsible for customer related technical solution finding and observing customers, competitors and market activities with regards to global technical trends. Communicate findings on a frequent basis to the Vice President Sales and Marketing Business Line Surface Technology business unit and globally to Technical Support Engineers.
Principle Activities/Duties-
Provide technical support to customers and sales staff in North America.
Prepare timely and adequate reporting and documentation of customer contacts and distribute within the Business Line Surface Technology.
Identify and develop new market segments and customers within Business Line Surface Technology.
Coordinate activities surrounding customer complaints and ensures adequate response times in cooperation with sales staff as well as with production and quality management.
Maintain regular contact with all North American customers of Business Line Surface Technology, and coordinate efforts with Sales Managers and Vice President Sales and Marketing in the Business Line Surface Technology, BU AMCP.
Know How-
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Material Science
5+ years experience in the Thermal Spray environment (applying coatings and handling thermal spray equipment)
Technical trouble shooting skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Readiness for extensive travel both domestic and international
U.S. citizen or permanent resident status required
